Just be thankful Watterson didn't turn into Scott Adams. I'm 35, his books and The Far Side were must-buys at old Waldenbooks as a kid.

I have thought about the Adams-Watterson thing ... but honestly, Dilbert wasn't particularly smart in the first place. It's impossible to imagine Watterson going down that road without having a stroke.

Calvin & Hobbs is carried on the Go Comics website. I read it daily.

Hi, Will! Thanks for sharing this. I wanted to tell you that I introduced my 10-year-old (now 11) to Calvin and Hobbes last year. I used to have a bunch of the collections and donated them years ago for space. But then we saw one out and about -- he draws all the time and was curious -- so I bought it for him. I heard him laugh out loud so much, it was delightful. He laughed so hard, he could barely tell me what was happening in the comic. So now I'm looking online for what I once gave away. :)

Ha! That's a great place to be. Has he tried starting to draw Hobbes yet? My son loves to draw, and he loves Hobbes, but he doesn't like to draw Hobbes. Says Hobbes doesn't like it.

I love that he's respecting Hobbes' wishes. :) My son hasn't tried drawing Hobbes, but I can ask. (He's in a huge Mario and Plants vs Zombies phase.) BTW, if you haven't seen it, someone wrote one last get-together for Calvin & Hobbes, originally on Reddit. https://medium.com/@playmaker/in-the-final-minutes-of-his-life-calvin-has-one-last-talk-with-hobbes-4f6d76dc9cae
