I love this part, Will:

"To find your place in the world, and to stay there, to find that peace, is rare and sublime and should be cherished and celebrated."

This is the (perhaps unattainable) goal!

Love that you keep score of every game. I used to but no so much since the kids were little. I recommend The Joy of Keeping Score by Paul Dickson, a great book on the subject.

I have to buy a million of those scorebooks and store them, just in case they ever stop making them. Which they might.

As always, you make the disgusting veggie smoothie that is our current day to day existence go down easier…mucho thanks!

Thanks! (Though I might actually like veggie smoothies more than this.)

I apologize in advance for gushing all over you buy I so look forward to your column every Saturday morning. This past Saturday it was not in my inbox by late morning and I had a mild panic. Then it was there and all was right with the world. Every week lately has been tough for me watching the world seemingly collapse into (unto?) itself.

Then you share the "crowd helps stranger at baseball game without a word or direction" and I believe in hope again. I also find the places your brain takes you in these columns fascinating. I've read all your archives (one pandemic benefit) and not once did I think "oh, he just slogged through that one." I also love scoring baseball games in person.

Thank you Mr. Leitch for this column. Sorry I got so wordy but I am eternally grateful for this column.....
