Will! The Texas Rangers have just added 35 year old Matoon, Illinois native Kyle Hudson to their coaching staff! He's even an Illini.....

Heck yes ... and a former Illini football AND baseball player! I was at the game he played at Yankee Stadium: https://leitch.tumblr.com/post/9839103849/mattoon-illinois-makes-its-yankee-stadium-debut

I didn't send you a Christmas card (and I have your address right here!) because I figured you'd get thousands so why add to the pile? Now I feel like I failed. Your writing has brought me joy and insight all year (and for free!) and I did nothing? I am glad you enjoyed the cards you did get. You are a State of Georgia Treasure, not yet a National Treasure, but you are getting there! All the best Will.....

Thanks, Will, for 52 wonderful newsletters. I truly enjoyed each and every one of them.

You didn't mention - are you bowling with Georgia or Illinois? I fly to Tampa tomorrow!

Go Illini!!

I'll be in LA for the title game ... but living and dying with every snap at the ReliaQuest Bowl!

That's fabulous! I had 25 hours in Tampa for the Reliaquest Bowl (I thought they were originally an auto parts store 🤣🤣). Great game, but a tough ending. Here's to more great Illini Football in 2023! I hope you have a great time in LA and your Bulldogs (the right Bulldogs) win!

Happy New Year, Will! I'll make a libation on Monday for Mike Leach, who quite clearly understood everything you wrote about today, but let's hope for an Illini win. And let's hope Underwood's kids have been getting their heads on straight over the break before the Big Ten title slips entirely out of their reach.
