Thank you Will. The examples of bravery you provide are worth at least as much of our attention, probably more, than the examples of horrors that are thrust upon us. I’m deeply grateful. Keep up the good work, please.
Hey Will, there's a story in today's Live and Let Fly blog (a travel blog) about a Hampton Inn in Matoon, Illinois and the general managers hilarious responses to complaints about the hotel being overbooked by Rural King, whatever that is. Ah, small town life!
You got it right in the last paragraph Will. I grew up in the turbulent 60's and 70's, and the things that stuck were my Dad telling us ghost stories, regular family TV nights, dinner around the family table, catch with my Dad, my Mom teaching me to cook, etc. I knew the world was crazy weird outside, inside? A safe family bubble. Realistically, it was an illusion but a safe and necessary one. Keep doing what you are doing. Children just need that attention and that they are loved and that they matter.
Hey Will - my good friend, who is a historian at the University of Alabama, co-authored a book that is out on March 8 and I think its themes fit with how you have tried to grapple with the pandemic and racism in this newsletter. The book is called 'A Deeper Sickness' and I can put you in touch with the authors if you are interested. https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/692492/a-deeper-sickness-by-dr-margaret-peacock-and-dr-erik-l-peterson/
I'm very intrigued by this!

Thank you! Hope you're holding up and staying sane ...
Absolutely outstanding this week Will.
Thanks, man!
Well said my freind.
I'm most appreciative ... just trying to make sense of all of this ...

The rest takes care of itself.....
I hope you're right!
