Wow do I feel you with the music. I’m a bit ahead since my son is now 22 but how he and I interact with music is similar. I was thrilled when he started listening to music I enjoyed. I have shared many recommendations with him in the past and have always had confidence in his ability to settle into good stuff. The tables have turned though and I ask him for recommendations much more often now. Can’t become one of the olds stuck just listening to The White Stripes and The Strokes all the time...
Once an eighth grader who nodded as though he knew about the real slim shady, I too ended up using “Lose Yourself” as psych up music, albeit during college before math tests. There’s something cool about knowing certain songs not only stay popular but speak to people in the same ways across time.
(Especially because I still only know Eminem’s most popular hits!)
It was great meeting you and visiting Chevalier's for the first time.
Your mom’s favorite song of Eminem is “White Trash Party”
I know this isn't the appropriate venue but A.J. looks great!

Rick Astly was bad enough......
