I’m so glad you and your parents, and sister got to experience London. It really is a great city. I was fortunate enough to live in Zurich for most of 1990, when I was all of 27 years old. My wife had a work assignment and I tagged along. I couldn’t work, due to work permit issues. (I was there for 8 months, came home right before Illini football started. My wife came home 10 days later.) We traveled almost every weekend and saw so much. It really spurred a love of travel.
We’re actually in Ireland finishing off 2 weeks on this lovely island. We’re (I’m actually) driving the trip. It’s the third time driving here and to challenge myself, I rented a stick shift! Ton of fun! Driving on the left really is quite easy, it’s like you’re looking in a a mirror.
Keep traveling! It’s a great big world we live in!
Sounds like you guys are having a blast. And you're dead on about the corporate bs that's taken over the US, but we've all seem to have become numb to it and just shrug.
You've lived in NYC so you'll definitely relate to this song. It's kinda hardcore...
As someone who made a stop in the Emergency Services department on my last London visit, you DO NOT want an issue whilst you’re over for your visit. Enjoy. Hydrate. Go easy on the pints.
Great stuff as always Will, but worth noting the United Kingdom is really struggling compared to the rest of the West. The British economy is shrinking while everyone else’s is growing.
I went to the game today as well and was very impressed by how well organized they were. Things moved along quite smoothly, I suspect because they are used to dealing with drunken soccer fans.
Also: Watching Adam Wainwright makes me sad. This is like watching late career Ali. Make it stop.
You're absolutely right about canals. I studied in Oxford for 8 months in 2004-05. If it made any sense at all for me to walk along the tow path along the Oxford Canal to get where I was going, I did so. Loved seeing the boats. I'm romanticizing the hell out of living that way, obviously, but all the same I look back on it fondly.

I almost always feel better after reading something written by you. Thank you for sharing your unique talent.
This is very kind, thank you.
Churchill War Rooms are seriously great. Spent hours in there when we went a few years ago.
For all the amazingness of the war rooms, I could have spent days in the Churchill museum itself.

Yeah, Brexit wasn't great!

Thanks for the article!
It's ugly out there! Waino looked very, very toast.

Yeah, I think all towns should have canals. One thing walkers, drivers and cyclists can agree on: Little boats!
Glad you made it to London, Will. It’s my favorite city on the globe.
It's incredible!
