My son -- now 31 -- got a tattoo on his chest when he was 18. It was a Josh Ritter lyric. When he revealed this to me, I tried to stay calm. I asked about safety and care of the new tattoo. I asked about where he had it done. After a pause, I said: "I guess this is one of those parent-child moments. How am I doing?" He said: "Well, the words you're using are OK, but that look in your eye ... man."
I will never complain about a week where I see a new Batman movie in theaters and the Illini win a tourney game. I mean, I almost passed out from stress during the game, and that last Chattanooga attempt almost killed me. But Kofi getting that putback and Plum nailing those FTs. That's clutch shit.
It was a good season. Trent Frazier and Williams came to Champaign when we were in a tough spot, and the program is in a much better place obviously. I was twenty years old in 2005, and I want them to get back to the Final Four before I turn 40, but who knows.
this was such a fun read. thanks Will (and Will's very fun sister!)

OK, so this was AMAZING. (And I am sure exactly how it would go down in this household.)

Kofi putback destined to be underappreciated moment in Illini history. Especially if they win tomorrow. (Please win tomorrow.)
