I'm assuming this is also why you often talk about how you never miss deadlines. I'm a supply chain analyst and a common refrain in our world is that no one bothers us unless something is wrong. There is a negative connotation to that but I love it. You mean if I do my job and stay out of trouble people will leave me alone?

I share the one experience with law enforcement of my teen years. I was walking home from my friends house after a long night and was approached by our local suburban authorities as I was carrying under my coat an object that could have (and frankly should have) been some quantity of beer. They flashed their squad car’s light on me and asked me to open the coat, revealing a copy of Status-Pro Baseball. I practically had to excuse myself from the interaction as the officers were too busy laughing at me to dismiss me properly. Here’s to the rule-followers and thanks as always for your feed.

This reminds me of the time I wrote "I hate Mrs. Cutler" in my math notebook and then she unexpectedly collected our notes. I can still feel the combination of dread, shame and panic.

This one resonates with me so much. I still remember in my 8th grade science class when we had a substitute teacher, and someone offered me $20 to pull the emergency shower in the back of the classroom. Turns out it dumps out a ton of water. I never got in real trouble but I was terrified for *months* that the normal teacher would find out and I'd get suspended. And I never got the $20.

Ha, I too fear getting in trouble. Perhaps more accurately, I fear people getting mad at me, or disappointed in me.
