There was a Burt Reynolds Dom DeLuise movie many years ago called The End He gets misdiagnosed with cancer and hires Dom DeLuise to kill him without knowing DeLuise is nearby.. It's a black comedy
I had this dilemma the last time you had a book out: what if I’m not active on social media? Does Substack count as a vehicle to blurb your (really awesome sounding) new book?
That is the best newsletter since I started following. Joy for the new book. A little baseball. Well placed concern over our political situation. ... and a freakin' half marathon -- how cool is that! I think I came across this newsletter randomly in a group of recommendations and it is the one that has stuck.
Pre-ordered!
There was never a chance I wouldn't read your next book, but now I'm REALLY looking forward to it. What a great premise!
I hope I pulled it off!

I think there was also a Dave Bautista hit man movie about this last year too ...
Looks like an interesting movie maybe a black comedy. I couldn’t tell by the explanation
There are at least three, maybe four depending on how you count them
Prizzi’s Honor, with Jack Nicholson and Angelica Houston
The two The Whole Nine Yards movies are with Bruce Willis Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet
The classic the Survivors with Walter Matthau and Jerry Reed
I’m fine-tuning my social media blurbs about your book:
“Leitch! Leitch! Leitch! This is arguably one of the finest novels of all time. I could not put it down. You must read (and pay for) this book!”
(This will work fine.)

Oh, yeah, Substack counts! You are very smart for not being active on social media. (And thank you!)
Looking forward to it!!!
I happen to know someone who purchased Are We Winning? so you can't say "no one" bought it :)
OK, perhaps "not many" bought it. Or more accurately, "not enough."

Ha, thanks! We're glad to have you here.
They can fix the "34-34" typo, right?
Congrats on the book!
(I think I'm confused by this one. Do I have a type I need to fix? I miss those a lot.)
Sounds like a great book. I did preorder it…would have anyway.
Thank you!
I’ve read em all Will…especially loved ‘Are We Winning’ Can’t wait to meet Lloyd!
I love "Are We Winning?" too! I haven't read it in a long time, I wonder how dated it is ...
I don't read novels, usually, but I'll think about pre-ordering this one.
I hope so! (And you should read more novels, they're good for the soul.)
My friend had a Grade 4 glioblastoma. He made it for 7 years which is a long time but it was still a shock. I hope things work out better for Lloyd.
I'm sorry for your friend. It's a horrible thing.
I cannot wait to read this book!!
Thanks, Erin! (This is reminder for everyone coming across this to read Erin's books.)
