My almost 80-year-old dad who still runs but is def slowing down (and is being forced into retirement as a federal employee) really enjoyed the David Letterman bit, thank you! He sent it to his fellow slowing down cranky old man fellow grandpa friends and thought you’d like the text exchange he had with them. (My dad is the “me.”)
“Me:If you love kids like I do, you will love seeing this again
What a delightful listen!
Kids do say the darndest things.
Thank you for a smile and a laugh and a warm heart. Needed that!
Funny stuff
Needed a b laugh. Thanks
Me:Love these comments. I am very glad that you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Letterman was the man. Many memories of watching him from the couch with my 4 year son. He graduated from my alma mater, Ball State- granted, a couple of decades before.
Come cover the Indy 500 sometime and you might catch him at the track.
I'm almost the same age as your father, but except for the occasional aches and pains, I'm never sick. I think the big reason is that I no longer have schoolchildren in my house. When I was raising my kids, I caught something once or twice a year. Except for a brief bout of COVID, I don't think I've been sick in the last five years. Hope you're better before the long trip home!
Like your parents I am 75,wife will be in June and I too watch a lot of tv. But I haven’t had a cold or flu for a couple of years. My problem is skeleton issues like knees and spine. But tv works for that too. Don’t watch old stuff. Rather watch every detective show from 4 continents.
Those weird voice inflection things you talk about with Brady, it’s exactly like a kid playing sport in the backyard and doing the commentary as he plays (or maybe that’s just an Australian thing) the first time I heard him call a game that’s the thought that instantly came to mind, that he sounded just like my nephew when he was about 8 commentating our backyard games (and if I’m honest, me as a kid too 😀😀)
I thought the Olsen hype was way OTT, to me was just OK, nothing special, but compared to Brady he’s Al Michaels, Marv Albert, Richie Beanaud & Barry Davies all rolled into one
Sorry you’ve got the flu. Our whole family, many healthcare folks, traded the flu back and forth from Thanksgiving to New Year’s and we were super careful. My husband is 84 and in remission from leukemia. He was the only one who did not get sick. Go figure. Feel better before that drive home.
Speaking of Big Hall guy, it seems crazy to me that the NFL knows it has a backlog at certain positions for the Hall, with a lot of dispute in the voting room over who deserves priority and they bring in an 80% rule for the finalists in place of just Yes/No which will guarantee smaller classes
Oh and on Letteman, nobody believes me about this, but there was a time I watched him religiously and at that time he did a lot of skits with a female staffer bought out into the crowd or other ways to include her and every time they interacted I thought ‘there’s something going on with those two’ then my job changed and I couldn’t stay up as late but a year or so later that bribery ‘scandal’ thing happened and when I heard he was being extorted to keep a relationship with a woman on staff secret I was not at all surprised when they showed who it was
What I’m saying is true is that long before it all became public, just from the way they interacted on camera, I thought something was going on between them

Get well.

"WIsenheimery" is my new favorite word. Feel better soon!
This should have been on all my trapper keepers.
Samsung TV also has a Conan O’Brien 24/7 channel.
I didn't know this! (I will still probably mostly watch the Letterman one, though.)

Cardinals HOF has too many players. They should have gone with one per year.
I'm forever a big-hall guy. I just really wish Freese would have accepted his spot. How do you have a Cardinals Hall of Fame without David Freese?

I swear to god it’s true
It's definitely true! Quite a notorious saga in Letterman Land ...https://theweek.com/articles/496245/letterman-scandal-timeline

Sorry didn’t explain it well
*searches for costs of Samsung PLAY TVs since we need to replace our living room set*
The Letterman YouTube channel is worth checking out also
Literally everyone I know is or has been sick. Including me with that 103 fever. Godspeed, Will Letich.
It's quite persistent, too!
Jerry Green made the first 56 - in a row. https://medium.com/sportsraid/a-streak-ends-kind-of-316a6e645df4
Does that channel include NBC Late Night clips? I’d subscribe to that.
I think it's just CBS stuff. Which is actually fine with me: I love the NBC show, but my prime college time was CBS ....
So how many people have you infected??
