I like this despite the reverse jinx of my Cubbies and backhanded compliments/borderline slander of Pearl Jam. I’ll let it slide since both are in the letter’s epilogue
I wonder if some people thought that the last book was about a mass shooting and didn't like the concept. They missed that it was about despair, courage, and hope during difficult times (and was beautifully written).
Awaiting delivery of pre-order (with excitement). Thank you for #2 on writing list. Might be marketing genius, but still boring. Even worse, has spawned (boring) copy cats.
I also love "Rearviewmirror", though my favorite will always be "Black". I'm disappointed in Pearl Jam at the moment, though - they're playing down the street from me as I type this. I thought I'd look into tickets, since I've never seen them live. I went to Ticketbastard and there was a notice about how you can't resell the tickets above face value and the fees are displayed with the price. "Cool," I thought, "That's in line with the PJ I remember who fought against The Man over ticket prices." Then I looked at the tickets, and seats in the last row were $1000. Remember, that's not a resale price. And that's why I'm at home typing this comment to you and not rocking out at a PJ show right now. So much for fighting the good fight against our evil ticketing overlords.
Rearviewmirror is probably their best shredder, but overall, even though I STILL don't understand all the lyrics, I gotta go with Yellow Ledbetter. This hilarious video does not help with that either. 😁
Looking forward to the book! See you at the ACC Library!
Pre-ordered the book awhile ago….really looking foward to reading it. Congratulations on the movie deal.

I forgot to correct the "misspelled words" so the words are still red.

We definitely learned with this book to make the premise ... a little simpler.
I agree, and I loved that book!
Blurb from Richard Russo. Not bad! Pre-ordered and looking forward to reading it. (BTW, sorry / not sorry my Mets swept your Cardinals last weekend.)
Got two out of three from you this weekend! (and thanks!)
Touche!
You are correct that “Rearviewmirror” is the best Pearl Jam song.
I'm very impressed by your book writing timeline and that you stick to it. That's super impressive to me as a person without a ton of self discipline.
Also, I might actually get super pissed at you if you don't write a book titled or subtitled, Emerald Coast Cruizin: Panama City.

I'll give them the credit for at least trying to fight the good fight at one point ...
Very much looking forward to the book. And movie. Congrats
Still keeping my fingers crossed for a stop in Phoenix!

You and Jeff Garlin? That will be fun.
It should be interesting!
Hoping for another event at Orange and Brew in Downers Grove, Illinois!
Every now and again I drive from St Charles to there because I really like that shop. He has really good prices as well
