I won "Lloyd" on Goodreads. I look forward to reading it and liking it a lot more than The Times did Ron Chernow's biography of Mark Twain.

I'm a father of a 4, 2 and due-in-3-weeks year old and this is the most terrifying thing you have ever written.

One of the interesting things we observed with 3 journeys through middle school was the shifting of friend groups. In our experience, the ES friends were swapped out in MS and then turned over again once HS started... those seemed to have held so far.

Don't let yourself get too down if you see your child's good friend disappear from his circle, or your kid suddenly no longer part of one. It was a bit disturbing at first (Why? What happened?) but we now know it's an organic part of the process.

This is Middle School:

I used to help out at the local one as a "substitute Educational Assistant". I don't any longer because a "6th grade girl" said I "touched" her. In spite of the fact that there was VIDEO (and other) EVIDENCE that the accusation was false.... Well... I said "used to".....

On the other hand- was walking thru town the other day and a kid said - "Hey, I recognize you, you used to work at my Middle School. How're you doing ?". And then he remembered = and said - my name (I never remember anyone's name). And I was 2' off the ground for the rest of the day.

Hope graduation goes well.

I bought Jucifer’s classic Calling All Cars On The Vegas Strip on record store day last November.

An improvement over the CD for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was a booklet insert about the concept of the album as well as deep lore of 90s Athens, my salad days.

Jucifer probably remains the loudest band I’ve ever seen live, incredible coming from a two piece fronted by a five foot tall whispering guitar playing ingenue
